Summer in Japan (an Overview)!

Hey all! Toki Doki here, and first of all, I apologize for my recent inactivity! I have been in Japan for the past two months (June 12th - August 1st), and it was honestly the best travel experience of my life! In June, I flew into KIX (Osaka), where I finally was able to reunite with Okie Dokie! Before, however, I need to mention how much of a pain the Japanese customs process was. To give them credit, the process wasn't exactly long, but NOBODY spoke English. On top of that, nobody even pondered over the fact that I may know just enough Japanese to get around. Anyway, seeing Okie Dokie again was such a special moment for me!

Afterward, he took me back to Kyoto; the city I proceeded to call home for the next two months. Kyoto was a lot different than I expected for it to be. I expected Kyoto to look pretty similar to Osaka for some reason. I may have had such a narrow perception due to the fact that it was my first time to ever travel to Japan! Kyoto is such a peaceful city, full of history and simple beauty.

During my stay, I was able to visit so many different prefectures and cities. To be completely honest, I don't even remember half of their names! How embarrassing, haha! During our travels, I actually ended up meeting Okie Dokie's family; his uncle in Tokyo, and his parents/younger brother in Hyogo! His family was extremely generous, and I am grateful for everything they did for me. I spent a lot of time in Hyogo, where Okie Dokie was born. In said time, I truly became fond of Okie Dokie's family, and I very much felt at home. I miss them, dearly!

Kobe was another interesting city, where Okie Dokie and I visited quite often. Before anyone asks, no, I never tried Kobe beef in Kobe! Haha! Even so, Okie Dokie and I did get our fair share of delicious (but often unhealthy) food...Especially me...Crepes are beautiful...

Moving on! Not only did we explore countless cities, but we also traveled to magnificent historical sites, as well as remarkable areas of serene nature; warm beaches, green and misty mountaintops. The view of Kyoto from atop a mountain was perhaps my favorite! It was even more special to share such a lovely moment with Okie Dokie! It was so romantic!

Needless to say, I have already made plans as to when I'll be returning, and I am counting down the days until I finally get to reunite with Okie Dokie, once again! I will be posting more in-depth material about my stay in Japan, but for now, this is the general overview! 私たちは数え切れないほどの都市を探索しただけでなく、壮大な史跡や静かな自然の顕著な地域にも旅行しました。暖かいビーチ、滋賀県の琵琶湖テラス。山の頂上からの京都の眺めは、おそらく私のお気に入りでした!そんな素敵な瞬間を、オキドキと分かち合うのも特別でした!とてもロマンチックでした!
