Hey guys! Toki Doki here! Recently, Okie Dokie and I took a little day-trip to Bricktown, and Downtown Oklahoma City! I've been a couple of times, since I've lived in Oklahoma my entire life. However, this was Okie Dokie's first visit, making for a pretty exciting experience! We took an Uber to Bricktown at around 11:30 A.M., which dropped us off near one of our first destinations: a cute Oklahoma/Western themed gift shop called "Jumpin' Jackalope Merchantile."
There were so many different trinkets to look at; most of which I recognized to have deep Oklahoma/Native American roots. However, there was one thing in particular, sitting up at the front counter, that Okie Dokie just couldn't seem to keep his eyes off of: varying different flavors of chocolate truffles. As you can probably imagine, Okie Dokie dug out his pocket change and snatched up a milk chocolate coconut truffle ($3.15) and didn't regret a single bite, especially the melty and creamy milk chocolate center!
Afterward, we stumbled upon the new StreetCar (trolley) system which was recently implemented in the Bricktown/Downtown area. Better yet, the system offers all of their rides at no cost until February of this year (2019)! The route was actually very scenic, especially for Okie Dokie, since he fell asleep almost as soon as the trolley departed... I forced him to wake up for a few seconds whenever we passed the Devon Energy Tower, though!
At around 3:00, we took a quick rest at Starbucks. You know what was funny? The cashier recognized the logo on my hoodie, of an orchestra I used to be a violinist in! The particular orchestra was active until 2015, so I was surprised to find another past member in Bricktown! Also, I tried a can of unsweetened raspberry-lime sparking water, which I ended up adding a packet of Stevia sweetener to! Okie Dokie took an Iced Latte! Yum!
Finally, we made our way over to a restaurant called "All About Cha," which offered a variety of health-conscious food choices! Also, as a side note, they offered so many different tea concoctions! I would have tried one if we hadn't have just visited Starbucks half an hour before, haha! Okie Dokie ordered a Bento (Lunch) Box with chicken strips, and I ordered an orange chicken salad! Not only was the restaurant décor pleasant and beautiful, but their food tasted very fresh and delicious! I particularly loved the raspberry vinaigrette, which came with my salad!
I need to mention one more thing. Our Uber from my house to Bricktown wasn't so bad, but the Uber from Bricktown back to my place gave me a little bit of a headache! Hilariously, his mother called him at least seven times. He mentioned that he was Moroccan, so I would have to assume that's the language they were yelling at each other in before one of them would eventually hang up, just before calling back to start the whole mess over once again! Furthermore, he would not take his eyes off of his phone (obviously), and left his indicator (blinker) on for about ten minutes, consecutively, without even realizing it. Other than that small inkling of chaos, our day-trip was really fun! I'm glad I was able to enjoy a day in Downtown Oklahoma City again, and I'm also happy that Okie Dokie got to experience a new and exciting aspect of Oklahoma! そのあとで最近できたらしいストリートカー（路面電車）を見つけたんです！さらになんと運賃が今年2月まで無料なんです！このストリートカーからの眺めは非常に良かったです！特におきどきは非常に楽しんでるいるみたいでした（ほとんど寝てましたけど笑）。私はオクラホマで一番高いビルといわれる Devon Energy Towerの前で彼をたたき起こしました(笑)
3時ごろにスターバックスによって小休止を取りました。そのお店で少し面白いことが起こりました。私が砂糖なしのラズベリーライムソーダを買おうとしたときにレジの店員さんが私の着ていた服に反応したんです！そのとき私は昔所属していたオーケストラのロゴが入ったパーカーを着ていたのですが、彼はそれに気づいたのです！そのオーケストラは2015年まで活動したいたんですが、まさかそのオーケストラのメンバーにブリックタウンでアウトは想像していませんでした！そうそう、砂糖なしのラズベリーライムソーダはあんまりだったので人工甘味料を入れて飲みました。おきどきはアイスラテを注文していたみたいでした。
最後に私たちは "All About Cha" といういろんな健康志向のレストランに行きました。さらにそのレストランでは様々な種類のお茶が用意されていました。もしここに行く前にスターバックスに行っていなかったなら何か試したかったですね（泣）おきどきはチキン弁当ボックスを注文して、私はオレンジチキンサラダを注文しました。内装は心地よく美しく、出てくる料理はどれも新鮮でおいしかったです！私のサラダと一緒に来たラズベリービネガーは特に美味しかったです！
最後に一つ言うことがあります。家からブリックタウンまでのウーバーは普通だったんですが、ブリックタウンから家までのウーバーは頭痛を起こすほどひどいものでした（泣）なんでもそのドライバーの母親が何回もドライバーに電話をかけてきたんです。彼はモロッコ出身だったので何語を話しているのかはわかりませんでしたが、電話を切ったりまたかけてきたりとメチャクチャでした！しかもずっと携帯を見ている、ウインカーを10分間気が付くことなく点滅させたまま同じレーンを走るなど驚くことばかりでした。一つの小さなトラブルを除いて私たちの日帰り旅行は非常に楽しかったです！またオクラホマシティに行けたのはよかったし、おきどきがオクラホマの新たな一面を知ってくれたのは非常に嬉しかったです。皆さんは今までオクラホマシティかブリックタウンに行ったことがありますか？もし行ったことがあるなら、皆さんそこで何をしましたか？是非皆さんの経験をブログのコメント欄で教えてください！
