Okay, I'm going to spare specific information for the sake of privacy, but my high school is completely ruining my senior year. The system has decided to launch this massive construction project - remodeling the entire school - and it won't be completed until August of 2019. For the time being, seniors and juniors (next semester's seniors) will gain nothing but inconvenience. On top of that, other factors have completely twisted the school schedule around; shortening our lunch, and extending the school day by a solid forty minutes. Not fun.
To begin, as a result of half of the school being blocked off and demolished, I don't particularly appreciate having to backtrack around the entire school just to get to an area that was once across the hallway. This especially becomes a burden in instances of nasty weather. (Hey! Let's not forget to mention tornado season! Yay! *sarcasm*) Secondly, the school cafeteria has been closed off, and the students are left to eat in the gym. Sadly, there aren't enough tables to accommodate everybody, as there once were, so many of the students are rendered to eating their lunches while being sardine-packed in the gym bleachers. Here's what angers me the most about the tables; there have at least twelve tables being stored in the band room, and they are NOT BEING USED.
Now, I used to be able to go off campus for lunch, but the school has also destroyed a huge chunk of the student parking lot. Now, many of the drivers have to park in a gravel lot across the street. (Yay! More walking!) On top of the shortened lunch schedule - reduced to a meagerly twenty minutes - you can see where I'm going with this. I don't have time to go off campus for lunch anymore, even though I live RIGHT. ACROSS. THE STREET. from the school.
Another complaint regarding the parking situation; there aren't enough parking spaces for the drivers. Therefore, many of them are now having to park at the football field (about a quarter of a mile away from the school) and wait for a bus to shuttle them over to the high school (on a strict schedule between classes). This especially applies to those who show up late, and to those who arrive later in the morning/afternoon due to Votech and Concurrent classes.
Anyway, that was my little rant. I just needed to get my frustration out. *sigh*
